So... I pulled my SNES back out recently, and there is still old save on many of my games. For example, "Super Mario World." It had 3 files saved. I erased one file, played to a save point, turned the game off and then back on. I found that my recent play was not saved, and all three old save files are still there, as if I never just played again.
Now I have also tried changing the battery on it, so now all the files are erased, but it still won't save new data. Can anyone tell me what the problem is? I was so disappointed when the new battery did not solve my problem.
BTW, the main reason I want to figure this out is not really for Mario World, but for Uniracers and NBA Jam.
Thanks for any help!!!
SNES Game Save Problems
Re: SNES Game Save Problems
I have many weird things just like this happen to me before. My Final Fantasy II cart erased my save and restored the old saves. Very strange.
Do you have a voltage meter? Check the voltage of your "new" battery that you put in. I've had a lot of "new" batteries that I read the voltage on to find it was below 3 (which is bad). That being said, test the voltage on your old battery. It's probably still good (3.02v or more I'd say).
