Young Justice animated series

Post by Gamerforlife »

I honestly haven't bothered with any DC animated series since Justice League Unlimited went off the air(except Teen Titians for some reason) but this looks interesting. Knowing that Dick Grayson is a regular character and that there are frequent scenes involving Batman kind of has me sold already and the artstyle looks nice. Plus, it's co-created by Gregory Widen who created the amazing Gargoyles cartoon. Despite the target audience, I get the sense that this won't just be a kiddie oriented show, which is why I liked Gargoyles and Justice League Unlimited. Here's a vid:

Nah, I'm upset that Batman: The Brave and the Bold was canceled. I don't think I can deal with that kind of heartbreak again.

Well, look on the bright side, you can play the Brave and the Bold video game when it comes out :D

I'm looking forward to seeing how they incorporate the original Justice League into the stories. Though I realize that they won't be focus of the show. Interesting, that they emphasize that there will be major character deaths.

Since I can't have my Justice League Unlimited back, I'll happily take this instead. Can't wait to see this in November.

Great series finale, the death I didn't see coming, but they said way back before the series aired that they had planned on killing someone. What a way to go out.

Too bad we won't see that Darkseid/Savage story line. Damn Cartoon Network. I am also fascinated in seeing where they were gonna go with Nightwing's arc. They definitely set him up for something. Maybe he forms that show's version of the Teen Titans? We'll never know. Damn :(

Cara and I watched it up until the last season. I'm probably going to avoid this thread after this post, because we're waiting for the series to get ahead a little before watching it again. I hate getting stuck at a season finale and having to wait for the next episode. (Like The Legend of Korra)

So far, we have both really liked it. We nit-pick little things that annoy us, but overall the series has been pretty good so far. Much better than that disappointment called "Ultimate Spider-Man". (All IMO of course)

What's wrong with Ultimate Spider-Man? Most of Marvel's cartoons try to be serious and dramatic (not that there's anything wrong with that, I'm a huge fan of their shows from the 90s), so I actually like that they're taking a break and doing something more lighthearted. It's a nice change of pace. I'm kinda hoping they'll do a Fantastic Four cartoon in the same style.
I'm not a glitch, I just have pixlexia.

Spectacular Spider-Man was plenty lighthearted, and it was a much, much better show that got cancelled to make room for Ultimate.

Agreed, and like I said, it's just my opinion. I don't really like this Peter Parker, and to me it the jokes feel forced and awkward.

This topic isn't really about Spider-man, and I don't want to start a flame war. It was just my opinion, and I'm sure there are plenty of people that enjoy the series. It's just not for me.

On the other hand, I think the execution of Young Justice has been nearly perfect. My biggest complaint is the choices made for The Joker. He sparks me as a Spike Spiegel with a horrible sense of humor. Meh...

Finally got around (and drummed up the courage) to finish off YJ. I'd had like 4 episodes left for quite a while and didn't want to watch because I knew it was the end. I guess it worked out since they probably planned the last episode as a Season Finale and it worked out as a Series Finale, but there were some things they clearly set up for the next season like the Vandal Savage/Darksied thing.
I really don't think Wally was supposed to die. I bet he was gonna come back next season because whatever 'killed' him sent him into the past/future or something.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - it's criminal that Young Justice and Green Lantern Animated got canned so we could have an even more poorly drawn dumbed down Teen Titans and yet another Batman show.

Young Justice was a great show. It was nearly perfect. I would have loved one more full season of it to tie things up nicely.
