Point me towards some controller adaptors

Post by Flake »

Hey all,

I'm trying to find the best option for a controller adapter for my dreamcast. Stock controller d-pad is making me hate life. Obviously, price and compatibility are going to be my big concerns. What works best for you guys and where can I find the same?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I have a total control plus I wouldn't mind selling. It's a ps2 controller to dreamcast adapter. Works great for me but I pretty much never use it. It sells for around $25-30 new on ebay and seems to have a good reputation.

$12 and it's yours if you want it.

Yup the total control plus is the one I always hear mentioned. I have one and it works fine, my only issue is that the memory card slot on it is a little shoddy.

Yup, it looks like the total control plus is the winner.

A lotta PSX controllers work with Total Control. Great price too, better snag it!

Consider it snagged. I've got a copy of Street Fighter Alpha 3 that is going to be a lot more inviting in a few days.

Dream Connection 2 is the best adapter for Dreamcast. I use Saturn pads on it for fighters, and can also take PS1/PS2 and keyboard.

Curiosity, sounds like you have a PSX controller ready, which one?

Nothing special. The original (stickless) PSX controller works for me. I grew up playing Street Fighter II Turbo on the SNES.

Of course, that's assuming that controller will work. If not a standard PS2 controller will have to do. Anything is better than the stock dreamcast controller with that weird 'finger trap' groove in the back.

Should work fine. As a precautionary of sometimes Dreamcast blown controller port resistor, recommend power off when hooking up adaptor and PSX controller.
