dudes! Seriously! Scott Pilgrim will not be coming to Wii-ware? What!? I can only find reference of it being released on PSN and XBLA. Why??? That sucks.

To my mind about 90% of the good downloadable-only titles come out exclusively for PSN/XBLA (or occasionally Steam). Get used to it. :P

seems so weird to me though. The game LOOKS like a NES game. And Wii is a pretty popular console. Sigh.

Yes it is a popular console, but game sales of anything but first party titles usually do pretty poor. I would imagine it's even worse for downloadable stuff.

Personally I think the Shop Channel on Wii is just plain inferior to the similar experiences provided by XBLA and the PSN. Not to mention the fact that online multiplayer on the Wii is virtually non-existent so those two factors combined doesn't really make a strong selling point for 3rd party developers to bring their games to the Wii Shop Channel.

It could also be a control issue. I imagine that developing controls for a standard controller (Xbox or PS3) is a lot easier than mapping gimmicky controls to the Wiimote/Nunchuck. Not everyone has a Classic Controller so I guess most people just simply don't create games with those control schemes in mind.

I'm kind of going off on a tangent here but I think both of those issues seriously hurt the Wii also, but thats a whole different argument altogether.

The classic controller would solve all those problems and the online component could be done but as you said its a limited auidence which is crap!

why couldn't you just turn the WiiMote sideways and use it like a NES controller? Like on New SMB Wii?

The Wii is a popular console, but not with that audience.

It would be like advertising an anime during the Super Bowl instead of Adult Swim.

Its sad, my 360 is really only used for Beatemups. Castle Crashers, TMNT, and soon Scott Pilgrim/Battle Block Theater
