AES and NeoGeoCD prices on Yahoo!Japan auctions

Post by extrarice »

For a bit of self-torture I decided to take a spin through Yahoo!Auctions and look to see how much NeoGeo home hardware was going for (man it sucks being broke!). I thought that perhaps the prices would be going down since SNK announced NeoGeo availability on the Wii VC starting this summer. What I found is really confusing. About half of the AES systems are starting at around $140 or so (5 days remaining), and the other half are starting at $10 PLUS a few cartridges thrown in (two days remaining)! The NeoGeoCD systems are showing a similar price gap.

My first thought is that the waaaay cheaper hardware is broken, etc., but I can't find any indication of that in the listings themselves. Has the prices always been this wonky for SNK hardware, or is this a new result from SNK's Wii announcement? o_O

i think if anything there's renewed interest in the original hardware because of the wii announcements. when remakes and re-releases are on the horizon, it drives up demand for the originals. this is especially true of music releases

I hope they plan to release Pulstar on the VC. The AES cart goes for over $400 $_$

I'd love to collect NeoGeo AES games...but I'm just too poor. One day I figure I'll pick up a NeoGeo CD system. Prices don't seem that bad on regular e-bay.

I'm now starting to collect original NEO GEO CD games.
I got many perfect rips 1/1 copies of the originals but love the originals.
Buy them out of Ebay when they cheap enough for my pocket.

I have no problem sharing those rips.
If you looking for something just post it or PM me.

Personaly i own a neo-geo aes i spent 400$ with mods done to it s-video neobitz some other things. Game prices on most of the older aes carts are 25-60$ a shot. After that the game prices go up to much for me to afford so i just recently bought a neo-geo cd also which is just as good as the AES imo. For the AES prices a loose unmodded one usually goes for 150-200$ boxed maybe 250$. There not too bad on system prices just the games are expensive i only got 8 aes games.
