Tiny USB dongle for Xbox

Post by sv650touring »

All of the pre-made plugs I saw to connect a USB keyboard & mouse to the xbox had cables on them. I didn't want a big donkey whatever hanging off my media center, so I made this. I have an Apple keyboard plugged into it to demonstrate size. The built-in USB hub (on the keyboard)works nicely, as does my Dell optical mouse in the hub. The other junk in the pic is the donor hardware. I didn't ask anyone about this ahead of time, so I'm curious what others have done. Questions, comments, criticism?

nice and slick, I have just used the official xbox one myself, as the look was a bit less important to me. what was your donor case, it holds it nice and clean

any chance you would sell one made up like that? heh

I have made sort of the opposite. :) I added a usb (male) to the xbox dongle so that I can use it on a PC.
Also I like what you did but you can also wire a usb port inhouse of the xbox and route that to the back or front to make it look sleek.
Nice job.

P.S. I bet that soldering was a bit of a pain. So congrats.
