Today as I was using my laptop, I recieved an error message that my Graphics card (An Nvidia Geforce GTX 260m) had crashed. I can't remember the specifics of the message, but that is essentially it. Now, whenever I try to game it lags like crazy. These are games I played YESTERDAY and they ran smooth and now tons of lag. I restarted. I scanned for Viruses. I left it shut down for hours and tried again. I tried re-installing the driver. I don't know what to do :C
The lag ranges from games as new as War for Cybertron to ones as old as WoW and it happens in all settings. Low to ultra.
Please help! I have Decepticons to kill!
EDIT #2: Problem Solved. I am an idiot. My laptop was in the Alienware "Stealth Mode" the entire time and I didn't know it.
I feel so dumb but I also feel like playing Transformers

Just don't get a bling bling clear mouse or mousepad and you won't see the red LED in the bottom of the mouse anyway. There are mice with lights on top, so just worry about those if you get one like that.
If you got a really high intensity green LED it would work. If there were any problems you could try getting a few different solid colored mouse pads and see if it works better on a different color surface.
Team Fortress 2, and the orange box in general (half life 2 and it's episodes).
A Total War game (my favorite still is Medieval 2)
Civilization 5 when it comes out
S.T.A.L.K.E.R
just for starters.
But really you shouldn't miss Team Fortress 2. It's the most fun online FPS experience EVER and it's really easy to learn how to play. Even a beginner can help his team win.

Not that your computer isn't good, but I'm afraid that you could have spent your money better by not purchasing an alienware. I just purchased a new sony laptop which I'm sure cost less than yours with at least equal, but mostly much better specs all around. However, after my purchase I located another computer with basically the same setup for a couple hundred less... haha. Either way, what's done is done. New computers are a joy, especially when the last time you got one was in 2003. I was so ready to upgrade...
Oh, my friend just got that same model, and it turns out that you can change all of the LED colors. Like, on the computer, you can select the option and change them to whatever color whenever you like. Haha, you can even go rainbow but I think that might send the wrong message. So I guess they just want you to choose a color for when it arrives in case you aren't very computer savvy or something. As for a mouse, you don't really see the light underneath unless you pick it up, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Especially when you can always change your computer's LEDs. Have fun with your new comp!

Everything he said, but I'll also toss in a vote for Metro 2033. And if you're willing to venture into the territory of older games I'll add my standard "Deus Ex" suggestion.

Deus Ex he could have played on his old PC, and I hope he did. If not I still think he'd rather see his investment pay up with some good graphics before he goes back to playing retro, but excellent games.

Holy shit that's a lot of money for not a lot of bang...
You're going to run into problems trying to play the latest games on that rig on anything higher than medium to medium-high settings. Sadly, that laptop is nearly 18 months behind the curve.
However, since you seem only interested in WoW and Starcraft 2 you should be perfectly fine. Those games don't have very demanding specs and your laptop should handle them fine. Don't expect to be able to play Metro 2033, Stalker (even the first one) or Bad Company 2 with the settings cranked up. You might be able to play them on medium, if you're lucky.
