I have the GBA version of FF I & II (Dawn of Souls). I was thinking about going thru these games again. Do any of you know if the PSP versions of FF I & II are any better than the GBA version? Are the differences worth the extra purchase of a game I already own on the GBA?
I know that I & II on PSP are two separate discs and the GBA is on one cart, but the PSP versions can be had very cheap....so that is not really a problem.
Anyway, your input will be appreciated.
Final Fantasy I & II, PSP or GBA?

Re: Final Fantasy I & II, PSP or GBA?
The remakes for the PSP are my favorites, due to the re-balanced gameplay, more dungeons than the GBA version and original, as well as the ability to save anywhere [though I think that is in the GBA version]. Also, the CD-quality soundtrack is phenomenal; Square really put their heart into remaking the audio.

No competition whatsoever. I have them both, played through them and the PSP is by far superior. That isn't to say the GBA version is bad either because it's really good, but the PSP is head and shoulders above the GBA. It really captures the original's soul in a lot of ways while being very original itself in many aspects. PSP all the way...

The PSP versions look fantastic, visually.

Despite not having the PSP version of either FF I or II, but finished the GBA version on both, I say skip FF II if you want, since the game mechanics are heavy flawed - you do not see any traits from it getting carried over to later series.
FF I is a good game, and if you can get it for a low price on the PSP, than go for it.

Origins was best
PSP version is good but GBA Dawn of Souls is much closer to original

Even if I go to hell, I will live to the end of this world. And if the world does not come to an end... I will destroy it with my own hands!
