So I found some old Windows 98 install discs
Is there any way I can dual-boot these with windows 7 on my (64-bit) computer?

I'm not an expert but I googled it and got this page: http://www.thpc.info/dual/win7/dualboot ... _win7.html
Hope that it helps! I miss Windows 98. That was a great OS. I don't remember any problems with it, but the last time I hard core used it I was probably 12

Dual booting shouldn't be a real issue if you have windows 7. The biggest issue you'll come across are drivers for your modern hardware on 98. Sounds like a real project. Good luck getting it to work.
edit: Don't forget to BACK UP before doing anything like this. You may screw up your master boot record if something screws up during the process.
The safest thing for you to do would be to virtual machine your copy of windows 98. Run it simulated within windows before you decide to go all out on it. The second safest thing would be to install it onto a removeable USB drive and set your bios to boot off that instead just to test the waters.

I would totally just put 98 in a virtual installation. I'm sure those 98 install discs wont have the drivers for your computer if you try to dual boot it. And by the way, is it 98SE or just plain old 98?

Virtualbox is pretty bad at 9x. It's not officially supported, so there are no guest additions. You might have better luck with VMware or something.

The other problem that O/s had was severe memory leaks, they fixed it a bit with second edition, but I would compare it to Firefox of today in amount of memory leakage
I used that o/s for the longest time until I got xp. I also agree that drivers will be a headache if nothing else is.

A complete 100% compatible trouble free way. Not a dual boot. Make your internal WIN7 boot drive a removable drive. A second smaller inexpensive WIN98 boot drive with its own removable shell. Just need a 5¼ empty bay. I have four of these on the wife's PC.
1. DOS
2. WIN98 SE
3. WINXP PRO (My install files and data)
4. WINXP HOME (Wife's install files and data)
Mine are the older IDEs, there are SATA shells. Be sure to upgrade WIN98 to Second Edition.

I still would put 98 on a virtual drive. Never used Virtual Box, so I wouldn't know if it sucks. I just use Microsoft's Virtual PC and it worked fine for 98SE.
The thing about it is, I doubt that you'd find 98 drivers for a computer that 7 came on. The chipset, CPU, SATA, etc. Also, how many gigs of RAM do you have in that PC? Whatever it is, I bet it's WAY too much for a 98 install. A virtual installation is the way to go, especially because you can set it to run on 512MB (or something) of RAM.
