OMG, outrageous cost. You could hunt around Walmart. Sometimes they have decent shelving units. I'm not sure of the selection you have down in the states as I live in Canada. But some of our stores similar to Lowes etc also have decent shelves and furniture.

I too am looking for shelving and storage, I am sick of looking at rubbermaids.

You'll be surprised at all the awesome furniture stuff that comes in to these places, I almost bought a nice spinning Koss store rack form the 80's for $10 to hold my carts not too long ago but had no room for it so I passed.
