Warning Forever

Post by Ivo »

If you seen my review, I'm glad to take comments.

Other than that, I'm glad to discuss strategy of the finer points of the game once you've tried it. If you're interested, that is (namely, I can explain how I manage to get the top or bottom to take the Armor evolution).

If you want to get large scores, try blasting away several pieces at once by destroying the tip connecting to the core. The game gives you info about the score after each boss, and before each new boss comes in it shows how it's evolving in terms of several points.

Getting Armor evolution

Post by Ivo »

Apparently no one here really cared about Warning Forever - a shame, the game is really good.

In any case I'll register here: to get Armor evolution in the front or back, you need to destroy the respective part with your ship quite close to the respective bits (very close indeed), and as far as I could see you can't do it much sideways.

This is hard but quite natural if you're blasting the rear bits, as if you're destroying the rear bits from the top firing downwards, usually the enemy position doesn't leave you much space and you'll be destroying the bits close to them (in fact sometimes you might be trying to get the rear bit to evolve into Attack and you get Armor, because of this). Doing this in front is easier as there's more space, but you tend to get Attack when you wanted Armor because you're being too careful not to get hit yourself - afterall to gett Attack you also blast the front bits from the front firing upwards.

Repeat the process for the chosen bits in the early levels and the Pure Heart will soon evolve the front or rear section into the Armor branches.

I played it years ago. Didn't like it. Played it again now. Didn't like it.

In short: I didn't like it.

very good review and thanks for the tip on this great game - i actually love the gfx myself and even the sounds - its brilliant fun - and not too hard from the start for people like me who are useless at shmups (but love them) :p

maybe I'll get better if I play a lot of this :D

The only thing I don't like about it is that there is no animation to the player's ship. Other than that, it was worth the download. It's not amazingly revolutionary or anything like that, but it's fun for the 5 or six minutes I can play before getting bored.
