Anybody else excited about NBA free Agency?

Post by Metal Militia »

I dont know how many of you are NBA fans, but a day I have been anticipating for about 2 years now is finally almost here.......July 1st. The first day of NBA free agency. The free agency class this year is insane with players like Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Joe Johnson, Carlos Boozer all on the open market. I cant fucking wait!!!!! Why cant this day come sooner

I'm a die-hard Chicago Bulls fan and the Bulls have money to sign possibly two max free agents. If the Bulls can sign Lebron and Chris Bosh, I might be hospitalized due to alcohol poisning due to celebrating. I'd be happy with any of those players, but I pray that Lebron comes here. Miami also has a shit load of money to spend and that really scares me.

Two more Days! I can't wait

It's exactly what it sounds like; the players are free agents, ready and available to trade.

Word around ESPN is that lebron (which I think is French for "the bron") will be signing with Chicago, and possibly Bosh as well. But, ESPN has there own agenda, and the only show they have where I actually trust the news would be The Sports Reporters.

And for all you sports fans out there, do yourself and catch an episode of The Sports Reporters. It's nothing exciting like ATH, it's just 4 reporters giving their views, but it certainly beats listening to ex-jocks and radio personalities. These are the guys who went to school to study journalism. They are seasoned veterans in sports reporting (as the title suggests) and it's the only show where someone on ESPN can say something like "Vick should never have been reinstated into the NFL" or "The general public no longer cares for Tiger Woods".

So..... the transfer season is supposed to be exciting? I know sports fans make a big fuss when their team gets a star player, but until I see him in action I usually don't care :P

I am not excited...
But, as a Cleveland fan (of all sports) if LeBron leaves I will be prepared. See Carlos Boozer, CC Sabathia, Cliff Lee, The Fumble, The Drive, and The Shot.

Also, with LeBron not deciding either way, he is hurting the Cleveland Cavs. No one will sign as a Free Agent or to coach until they know if LeBron will or will not be part of the team next year... and by the time he makes his decision after all his meetings it may be too late to sign anyone else (to join or replace him.)

The only bright side to LeBron leaving is that my old season ticket seats will go back to the $10 instead of $35 a game per seat and I can afford them again.

Yeah, I actually feel bad for Cleveland. I watch ESPN all the time and all they talk about is Lebron going to New York, Chicago  , Miami, or New Jersey. They rarley talk in Cleveland. I think it is going to be difficult for Lebron to resign with Cleveland because they don't have any salary to spend on other free agents to make the team around him better. You could always sign and trade players like Mo Williams or Antwan Jamison though.

The one team that scares me is the Miami Heat. They have the most money to spend on free agency and I believe it is guaranteed that Dwayne Wade will re-sign with them. Now I see Dwayne Wade recruiting other players to play for Miami. I heard that last weekend Wade, Bosh, and Lebron had dinner in Miami to talk about possibly all three of them playing in Miami. If that happens, that would suck for the rest of the eastern conference.

I just cant wait until it's over. Everyday on ESPN all they can talk about is where Lebron might be heading, it gets run into the ground real quick...but I guess it is better than hearing about Brett Favre all offseason.
