PS3 controller alternitives
So I just picked up a slim 120GB PS Triple. I somewhat like the PS3 controller, but I have never been a fan of the duelshock design ever since the PS1.
To me, the d-pad is every bit as bad as the 360's and the trigger buttons are too mushy and not satisfying to press.
So I'd like to ask some advice on what options I have for alternative controllers.
I know there are PS2 to USB adapters out there that work with the PS3. How reliable/responsive are these? Do they support the rumble?
I have a Mayflash PS2 to Xbox 1 USB adapter that allows you to use an Xbox controller S on the PS2. Anyone know if this will work with the PS3?
I also hear about adapters that let you use wired Xbox 360 pads on the PS3. Thoughts?
Finally, what about third party PS3 controllers? Anything notable? I think I recall seeing one that had the 360 layout, but was for the PS3.

Re: PS3 controller alternitives
Someone mentioned this one when I was asking for a friend that just got a PS3 and was used to 360 controllers. I don't know if he got one one or if it's decent or not, but anyway.Satoshi_Matrix wrote: Finally, what about third party PS3 controllers? Anything notable? There's also some clear light up one that's wired that's probably available from Target or Wal Mart or something with flipped stick and d pad. Again, dunno if it's any good.

One of the nifty things about the ps3 is that it can accept ANY HID controller that hooks up via usb.
Try out a bunch of PC usb gamepads.

yes, Yes, YES!!!!!t0yrobo wrote:From what I hear usb Saturn pads work.
The absolute best controller for 2D pads in existence, and it works fine on the PS3! If you don't want a joystick for SSFIIHD or SFIV, then this is what you need.

True. Or you could just pick up an official SFIV Wireless Fightpad for PS3. I have one for my 360 and it works great, except the 360 pad is wired (unlike the PS3).Breetai wrote:yes, Yes, YES!!!!!t0yrobo wrote:From what I hear usb Saturn pads work.

Meh. I hated the SF4 Fightpads. Not only did it start messing up after less than a week of use (it's now worthless, with inputs 'sticking' long after I've released the button), but I hated the d-pad. It just doesn't feel right. After using it at a tournament, it bruised my thumb up something fierce.Weekend_Warrior wrote:True. Or you could just pick up an official SFIV Wireless Fightpad for PS3. I've found that using X-Arcade's PS2-to-PS3 controller converters with the PS2 SF 15th Anniversary controller is a far better solution.

PLEASE EXPLAIN. USB Saturn controllers?!t0yrobo wrote:From what I hear usb Saturn pads work.
You mean there are Saturn to USB adapters or third party Saturn-look alikes that are USB?
Re: PS3 controller alternitives
Neither. There are honest Sega made USB Saturn controllers. They are the real deal. Sega also made them for the PS2. Import them from Japan. They come in the original grey, US/EU black and JP white.Satoshi_Matrix wrote:PLEASE EXPLAIN. USB Saturn controllers?!t0yrobo wrote:From what I hear usb Saturn pads work.
