Goozex

Post by mjmjr25 »

Just a warning for anyone interested. I was recommended by a racketboy member to join Goozex. I'm out after 1 trade. I traded my 1,000 pts. i earned for a copy of worms armageddon N64. The game arrived covered in goo and the label significantly torn. I left negative feedback and questioned how a gamer could in good faith send that at the equivalent of $50. The seller was rude so I escaleted to Goozex customer support. The final outcome, the trade stands - there is not guarantees on condition other than functionality. On top of that, my feedback was overrode and changed to positive. On top of that, I was told my account was subject to cancelation if I did not follow the feedback guidelines. I told them i'll save them the hassle and closed the account myself. Just a warning if you trade on there or were considering.

I was going to try to start a game trading site called Zex Goo, but my mom wouldn't let me. I don't know why.

I'm sorry to hear that you had an issue with Goozex, especially on the first trade. I know I was one of the people talking up Goozex, so perhaps I'm the one that you listened to. You stumbled upon the one caveat of Goozex and that condition is not guaranteed, just functionality, as you said.

Though, I'd like to understand how you classified you neg feedback? Did you say that it is unplayable? I'd argue that the goo could ruin your N64, thus you wouldn't risk that even to verify that it worked. Assuming that's the stance you took, you should have received a request from Goozex to send the game to them for verification. Only then, could they accurately assess the issue, and should have realized that you received an unplayable game. From the sound of it, you didn't get that opportunity.

EDIT: You could always trade it back out since the precedent is that it is tradeable. Let someone else deal with the problem!

I know it still sucks, but if you want we can help you out with restoring the condition of the cart. Even replacing the label.

I thought of that...but then i'm just passing off the problem to someone else, and i'm still dealing with goozex staff. It was one thing to say something like, "hey were sorry you got a real ugly game, unfortunately our policy doesn't cover cosmetics." That I could live with, but to change my feedback? so others will trade with this guy? Just not impressed w/how they handled it..

It was another member who recommended goozex and has had great experiences, but i'm really sour after this.

I got the goo off, completely replaced the back w/one of my 1,001 copies of wcw/nwo revenge and even cleaned the label somewhat. However, there is about 15-20% that is literally gone. How do you go about replacing the entire label? Does it look legit?

I'm 28 carts away from a MINT N64 library (carts only), I have the entire library for awhile now, so am now trying for all MINT front and backs.

Second question, on label replacemnt...are all available, i've come across 4 copies of sculptors cut and it is tough finding a real nice one...

What I would do, I would load that into Photoshop and make sure it's the EXACT size you want it then print it to an adhesive backed paper. I use to use Avery labels which looked alright. Lately I've been printing on adhesive backed photo paper with a low gloss which looks really nice.

Anyway, get some regular Goo Gone and clean the entire label off the cart. Make sure you get it all, and then make sure you thoroughly clean the Goo Gone off the cart (might want to use soap and water). It wouldn't hurt to clean the label area a little with some rubbing alcohol. You want the surface to be perfect before you put the new label on, since you want it to adhere forever.

Contact cleaner will remove the goo and leave the cart clean all at once.

Ok, So I stumbled across this thread and wasn't going to say anything but the more I thought about the more I decided I probably should. This will give you guys a chance to hear both sides of the story.

First of all here is an image of the game as I sent it.
Image

Yes there is a tear in the label, nowhere near 15-20% and also no goo. This was my first trade on goozex as well but I read the FAQ before sending to see what was expected of me. I shipped the game the day after I accepted the trade and mjmjr25 likely had it within five days of accepting the trade. The problem is that he left my feedback as I sent the wrong game, which is supposed to be reserved for people who send the wrong game bootlegs or don't send anything. He should have used the +5 feedback which exactly describes the situation he was in, he got the game but it was not in the condition he had hoped.

I also want to defend myself a bit in that mjmjr25 said I was rude. My exact comment upon receiving negative feedback that basically would have given him the game for free if I did not contest it was, "The game I shipped was the game requested. I purchased the game used and there was a small tear in the upper right hand corner, something I had no control over. The game itself is in perfectly playable condition. For a disc only trade I feel it is in perfectly reasonable condition.

Additional info:
Tracking number: 9101148008600881635630
Shipping method: first class
Item mailed as: Disc only"

My first experience with goozex was not flawless, in the future I think I will pm the buyer an image of the game if there is anything questionable about the condition. I would say Goozex has specific terms that they operate under and if you are comfortable with them then you can get some great games for a reasonable price. I really just wanted to give Goozex a fair shake here.
