Can you hear the unit start up? By that I mean, do you hear the disc tray spinning? Do you know which CFW you are running? I know that in some (like DarkAlex's mod) there is a certain button combination you can hold down to get to a bios-like screen at startup. Helps to protect against bricking.

Do you still have a pandora battery? With a pandora battery and the proper files on the memory card you should be able to reflash it.

Why do you want to get rid of the softmod? Also you cant do that without a memory card.

I believe you can just update it, either via XMB or by inserting a new game that requires you to update.

Worstcase scenario is you have a CFW that blocks updating. Well know if that is the case later.
If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

I do not believe you can update from a hacked firmware to an official. Nor would I want to attempt it. Could be 100% wrong though...

You will need a pandora battery, plus a copy of the original firmware that came on the psp on a memory card (update.pbp).

When you insert the battery in the PSP it will automatically turn on and start the flashing wizard IF your memory card is setup correctly.

After doing this, your PSP will be useless... but that's just my opinion.
