I did a search, and while it wouldn't surprise me if this has been mentioned before here, I couldn't find anything on it in the search.
Anyhow, I'm wondering how difficult it might be to make RF wireless mods for various older game systems and controllers. I know there's a few tutorials on making wireless SNES and NES controllers to interface with the Wii for VC, but I'd like to make them simply interface with their original consoles, something which I imagine would be a lot simpler.
So, what would I need to know, and how difficult would this be?

Re: wireless controller mods?
It would be EXTREMELY hard, I'm sure. Plus it would probably be expensive.
Judging by the lack of responses, I'm pretty positive, that most people here don't know how to do it.

I know it takes away from the fun of a possible project, but I remember seeing these for sale in a local Gamecrazy before they closed:

Reviews look pretty promising if thats what you're looking for. I believe they made an SNES version too

If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?
Re: wireless controller mods?
Yeah i'm sure something like this would be extremely difficult. But the charm about it would be if they were the original controllers, not the messiah ones or any of the other clones.

Re: wireless controller mods?
I think the biggest obstacle besides voltage requirement is if the RF receiver could be matched to the NES plug which won't work without a matched PCB to determine RF received signals. Modding an older Infrared NES wireless wouldn't be cost effective considering you would have to gut a newer RF controller and risk of it not working. The gutted RF board could be used in an orginal NES controller shell. The NES RF sender end in the controller would be a breeze, a matter of matching the buttons. The RF receiver end will be the headache due to different voltage and different pin connections compared to the removed Infrared receiver.
The Aklaim wireless NES pad, a hard find as it is. Reminds me of the original brick phones.
