Does anyone here have the full version of the Battle Kid rom? I own the NES cart from Retrozone, but as much of a true retrogamer that I am, I feel Battle Kid was made with savestates as almost a requirement. I want to throw it on my PSP.
Thing is, I myself don't own a CopyNES to do it.
Given the number of CopyNESes out there and the fact that the game has been out for a while, I'm surprised I have such difficulty finding the ROM through google.
Does anyone here happen to have the ability to create a rom? I'm obviously not asking for anything publicly. I just want to know if anyone has it.

Re: Battle Kid Rom
Doesn't the game have a password save feature?
Re: Battle Kid Rom
It does. But half the fun of this game is getting through it the hard way! If you use savestates, you'll probably beat it very quickly, and I doubt it would feel like as much of an accomplishment
Re: Battle Kid Rom
I think it is a shame that people are hunting the full rom, its a indy effort and needs support, I can understand in a few years perhaps when the cart is out of production and its near to impossible to find.
As it is still in production, it is my understanding you can not request this rom.

Oh, he's got a cart so it's fine. I'm sure someone out there with a CopyNES or Retrode would do it for you if you sent them the cart with return postage. It would be entirely legal if you're in the US too. See USC 17 117:
For once copyright law is sensible. Sorry I don't have a dumper or I'd help you out. It would still be in incredibly bad taste to share the ROM once you get it. But I think we all know that.(a) Making of Additional Copy or Adaptation by Owner of Copy.— Notwithstanding the provisions of section 106, it is not an infringement for the owner of a copy of a computer program to make or authorize the making of another copy or adaptation of that computer program provided:
(1) that such a new copy or adaptation is created as an essential step in the utilization of the computer program in conjunction with a machine and that it is used in no other manner, or
(2) that such new copy or adaptation is for archival purposes only and that all archival copies are destroyed in the event that continued possession of the computer program should cease to be rightful.
We are prepared to live in the plain and die in the plain!

I totally agree. But is the guy that's making the carts on Retro Zone sharing the profits?emwearz wrote:I think it is a shame that people are hunting the full rom, its a indy effort and needs support, I can understand in a few years perhaps when the cart is out of production and its near to impossible to find.

Thats a link to the entire first level. Don't be so cheap man. Try getting past THIS without save states. I play on emulators on occasion and when I think about doing a savestate. I think about how kids beat games in the 80's. Nothin but skill there my friend :[D

Re: Battle Kid Rom
That's....odd. What happened to my reply...?
Well anyway, here it is again, slightly abridged.
As I said, I already own Battle Kid because I wanted to support the single guy (!!!!!) that made it. Not only is it the best homebrew game for the NES, its in my top 10 games for the system period. I encourage everyone who is intro retro games to check it out. It's every bit as good as full new age retro games from large companies like Megaman 9 and 10.
All that said, I still want the rom of the full version. I played and beat the demo long before I was able to get the real transparent green cartridge. The main problem is I don't want Battle Kid to be exclusive to my NES and various Famicoms. I also want it on my PSP, Wii, Xbox, PC and yes, Powerpak too.
I'm hoping someone here has both a retrode/copynes and a copy of battle kid, but if not I suppose I am willing to ship my copy to someone who has the set up.

Re: Battle Kid Rom
I understand you are saying you own the game, however you are not aloud to request current games, and as the game is still being sold commercial, it would count as current.
If someone links you, those who do not own the cart will have access to it.
