Forgotten Characters

Post by LiL-mAc »

What are gaming's forgotten characters? Those that where important in previous generations and somehow ended up being forgotten or lost in the shuffle. Here are my list:

Bubsy
Aero the Acrobat
Tomba
PaRappa the Rapper
James Pond
Goemon
Battletoads
"I can't win, Doc!" "Yes you can, Mac!"

With the exception of PaRappa and Goemon (of whom there are about a billion Japanese games and they do still make games of) all of these characters and their games are soulless abominations designed only to cash in on the current trends of the time and are better left forgotten.

James Pond was just weird and had nothing going for it besides bad 007 / fish puns.

Wonder Boy
Shinobi
Streets of Rage guys
Opa-Opa

That'll do for now. These guys had great series and have just been left in the dust of endless sonic sequels. To be fair, Shinobi had a few (decent?) PS2 games and an atrocious GBA game recentish and Opa Opa and the fantasy zone series in general recieved a few nods in sega tennis and sega racing. Wonder Boy is criminally forgotten though, it was an amazing and high quality series that stands up brilliantly even now.

Art of Fighting Series.

Capcom vs SNK or SNK vs Capcom doesn't count or even KOF Series for that matter. This was one of my favorite fighting series other than MK and SF2 during the late 90s era.

I haven't seen anything about Bonk. He will probably fit very well on the Wii.
Thanks everyone...
