Highlights for me - Paper Mario, Metal Gear Solid, Star Fox 64, Resident Evil, Nintendogs + cats, and a new Mario Kart.

Seems amazing so far. I want to get my preorder in soon, I want it day one.

Paper Mario 3DS actually sounds like a great idea, given the 2.5D nature of the game.

Im just so excited for this console right now. What an amazing list of games in development! Even just the Nintendo games is enough, but theres some sweet looking 3rd party stuff too

I noticed that Square Enix's simply says "Final Fantasy Series"

...FF5 and 6 remakes? I can only hope...

Does anybody know if the 3DS will be backwards compatible with other DS games? I've never owned a handheld device, and I might be interested in getting this one if it would allow me to play older games too.

I'm not sure JT. Iwata seemed to allude to it when he mentioned "Compatibility with the DSi" in reference to the cameras. I haven't been able to get a good static shot of the cart slot, though, to see if it'll take a DS card. It looks a bit thicker, but it also looked like maybe it's structured so a 3DS cart is thicker but not as wide so the slot could fit both DS carts and 3DS carts.
