Which consoles should I keep.

Which consoles should I keep.

Post by mas »

Hey,
I just came from the flea market and i picked up a couple of original xbox games fairly cheap which were halo 1 and 2 kof 2002/03 house of the dead and star wars knights of the old republic 2. Now I had an xbox before and i collected about 100 or so games but i ended up getting rid of them for cash.
Now i talked it out with my other half and she says its fine if i get another xbox especially now that the games are soo damn cheap that I need to toss one of my systems out. I can only have two and the two that i have is gamecube and dreamacst. Now i have rare and hard to find games for both systems so i dont know what to do. Either getting rid of my dreamacst or gamecube to get an xbox? Or just sell these xbox games and dont let temptation get in the way. Help me guys i dont know what to do. Thanks

I'd say stick with Gamecube and Dreamcast, personally. You can do some cool things with an xbox if you're willing to mod it. However, for just regular game playing, I think the Dreamcast and Gamecube are better systems. Also, the disc drives on xboxes don't seem to last as long as those on the Dreamcast and Gamecube. This final point is the major one for me.

On a side note, I would also suggest making your topic title a little more descriptive.
Systems: TI-99/4a, Commodore Vic-20, Atari 2600, NES, SMS, GB, Neo Geo MVS (Big Red 4-slot), Genesis, SNES, 3DO, PS1, N64, DC, PS2, GBA, GCN, NDSi, Wii

Just tell her that you'll box one up and put it in the closet. Surely there must be a way to reason with her. :)

Keep the GC and the DC! If you can get the xbox. There so cheap you cant not afford one. If you cant then you cant.

Sure you can't just toss her out?

Oh, and if you have to choose, keep the Dreamcast and the Gamecube. They have a better and more varied library in my opinion. Most Xbox games can also be had on PC.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
