So like a moron, i just charged ahead and bought Mystical Ninja 2 off ebay for £17 (thinking I had stumbled across an epic find) before I realised in the description that all the in-game text is in German.
I've contacted the seller asking him to be merciful and cancel the purchase - is there anything else I should do?
and yes, the moral of the story - always thoroughly read the listing.
Sure, you might lose a couple of bucks but that's what you get!
I mean, the mistake was made by you, so it's only fair that you suck on that sour pice of candy!

Nah I don't speak Gaelic - that tends to be spoken by people living on the west coast while I live in the east where the traditional language is Scots.
It's debatable whether or not Scots is a language of its own or just a dialect of English, but it makes me sound bi-lingual if I say I can speak it!
The Scottish Parliament website can be viewed in Scots though, and it's not a joke! http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/vli/l ... /index.htm
But back on topic, say for argument's sake that I just failed to pay for the item... would that be a wise idea?
I don't think it would be worth the negative feedback, or risk of eBay retaliation.. Just pay it and resell it, (as was recommended earlier.) Is it a complete game? If so, it might just be worth it to keep on a shelf for the artwork and a reminder to read the entire auction details later..
But definitely ask the seller to negate your bid.. If he/she refuses, don't let them pay for your mistake...

The guy got back to me and seemingly, it being listed as German language was a mistake and it's in English after all. Excellent! I think that makes this a pretty good find
Scots is fine by me! Consolevania and a couple of Scottish friends later and I could handle it like the best of 'em. (Imitating the accent is a whole different kettle of fish however )
