SNES and HDTVs
Recently I decided to play some old school SNES games like DKC but when I started to play the game on my HDTV it seemed significatly slower than I remembered it as. Is this because I was playing on a flat screen T.V.

What system were you playing before you started playing your snes again? The only reason I ask is because the same thing happened to me when I started playing mine again. Going from the ps3 to an 'ol 16 bit will be a noticeable difference.

Older. Not wiser.
Re: SNES and HDTVs
Maybe the games just seem slower to you from a long hiatus. I play my SNES on my HDTV all the time, there's no difference.
Also, if you've been playing emulators, this might also contribute to this weird slow down feeling you're.... feeling (yeah, could have worded that better). A lot of emulators will run a lot of games at different speeds than they're suppose to (slower or faster).

Re: SNES and HDTVs
The only thing an HDTV would introduce would be some lag in between the button press and it registering on the screen. You can most easily see this with timing-based games like Mario RPG.

Maybe you're in a PAL country and you've been playing games on emulators at 60 hz instead of 50 hz all this time.

Do you have your SNES hooked directly up to the TV or through a DVD player? If the latter, then that could account for some lag.

50 hz, runs too slow.
It´s like slow motion.
Entire Europe got assraped at that time.
I got a Japanese Super Famicom. no assrape for me.

Is it a LCD? May be giving that illusion of lag due to slight delay draw time of LCDs vs Plasma and CRTs.fuzzymaster777 wrote:Recently I decided to play some old school SNES games like DKC but when I started to play the game on my HDTV it seemed significatly slower than I remembered it as.
