Tagging games as Favourites on the Nintendo Channel

Post by Incognito D »

As you probably all know, you can tag games as favourites on the Nintendo Channel to recommend them to other players. If a game is favourited by enough people it can be awarded a Gold, Silver, Bronze or Platinum medal to show off its popularity.
Only 2 games currently have achieved Platinum status: Metroid Prime Trilogy and Monster Hunter Tri - and it's the second of these two games that I find odd.
It's only been out for 2 or 3 weeks - is it really possible that it's shot to such popularity in this time? It makes me wonder if Nintendo have just awarded it the medal as part of their extensive marketing and promotion of the game, and not because it's genuinely achieved the popularity status. I might be wrong, but what say everyone else?

(And I know, I'm obsessed with the Nintendo Channel. Check out the other thread I made a while back if you share my OCD love: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 2&p=199869)

I love that the channel keeps track of game play time,
save for a few games, but the wii message board makes up for games not supported.
Im looking at you Klonoa.

Anyways, Monster Hunter Tri is a fantastic game, and deserves it.

However, I wonder why there is no Mario game with Plat status.
