I did not see this posted anywhere here, so I wanted to share this pretty decent article from The Atlantic Monthly which is a response to Roger Ebert's infamous April blog on video games not constituting art. I actually was a bit taken aback by this as the Atlantic is not usually known for articles praising pop culture.

Not a bad article, but those points have been brought up many times and better before. Also why the hell does he just bring up nintendo games? when i think of games that have left a lasting impression on me or emotional impact they were never a nintendo title....except for super metroid. Mario 3 is one of my favorite games, but i wouldn't call it art as alongside shadow of the colossus, or metal gear solid. Just my 2 cents.
