Game OST collections

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Game OST collections

Post by MikeyW »

Don't know if there's a thread like this already like this but I was interested to see if any of you guys own or listen to game soundtracks or game related music?

I currently own all 3 Black Mages album as well as the soundtrack to Sonic Adventure 2 as well as buying my girlfriend the Final Fantasy IX piano collection.

I've downloaded quite a bit more, including Crush 40's 1st/2nd album or whatever as well as Jun Senoue's "The Works" which has some great tracks on it. I've also got the Mario and Zelda Big Band album, the other 3 Final Fantasy piano collections, and the full Final Fantasy IX soundtrack on my hard drive as well as the DBZ Budokai 1 & 2 soundtrack and the redone Gunstar Heroes album.

I used to have the redone Megaman Zero soundtracks but I lost them at some point in a re-format or something.

I'd love to buy quite a few of these except import prices on a few of them put me off.

Do any of you guys actually own any gaming soundtracks?

my wife bought me a couple of Zelda sndtrks for Christmas. Other than that I don't really have any others. But if I saw certain ones (Mega Mans, Final Fantasies, etc) that stand out to me as series with really great music, I'd certainly nab em.

The only one I've actually bought was Symphony of the Night. I'd buy more if you could A: Find them easier and B: Find them at affordable prices. Some of the old OST are just hard to find.

I finally downloaded the DKC Trilogy OST, I have always loved that music. Might be my favorite soundtrack from a video game, ever.

Just like this Thread. If Soundtrack or Music is included in the title it could easily be found in a search. Geeze.

Unlike that thread though, I was interested to see if anyone has any actual retail copies of OSTs; thus I thought it would be an okay thread to start. Sorry if this isn't the case.

I've only ever bought 2 Game OST collections. Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night & the 5 disc Bayonetta Soundtrack. I would buy the God Hand soundtrack if there was one available. I'd like to get the No More Heroes & Infinite Space OST collections but they are way too expensive for 1 or 2 CDs to import.

Threads are different enough for me. And to answer your question, off the top of my head:
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Legend of Zelda: Windwaker
Final Fantasy Potions 1&2
Final Fantasy 5: Orchestrated
Final Fantasy 6: Orchestrated
Chrono Cross
Mario RPG
Super Smash Brothers Melee Smashing Live Orchestra
Phantasy Star Universe:Save this World
and ofcourse Sega SST band discography

Unofficial soundtracks:
Soul Calibur
Double Dragon - NES
Crazy Taxi
Natural Selection - Half Life mod

I've never bought a soundtrack, but a Kingdom Hearts fansite (I've never played KH, I just found it while searching for soundtracks on google) had an ENORMOUS collection of them, all up for free download. That's where I got the Japanese soundtrack for Sonic CD. But it was too good to last. Someone decided to threaten them with a lawsuit if they didn't shut the downloads down, and so they did.
