gamecube power LED

Post by optmusprimenumber »

i looked around on the web and found that if (so it says) i use any 3mm or 5mm led in place of the standard orange power-on led, it'll be gravy. can anyone confirm this?

I can't say for certain, but that sure sounds right. Leds aren't very finicky, and any extra electronics, like resistors, would already be in the GC. Just stick the original led in a pair of calipers and buy another of the same size, if in doubt you'd probably be better off buying one too small than too big.

Yeah resistance only affects the brightness of an LED. Pay attention to the MCD rating on the LED anything above 1000 will be fine. I bought 3000 mcd leds (I think, can't remember) and they seriously hurt my eyes to look at them, extremely bright.

Hehe. Something about that makes me want to find some of those and put them in all my consoles.
