Star Ocean

Post by bartre »

hey all.
i built myself a Star Ocean Reproduction cart a while ago.
i've hit a problem though.
the game run fine, no freezing, saves, everything works.
except for one little graphical thing.
in towns where it's supposed to be raining, the rain only shows up in shadows, and everywhere else just looks normal.
is this an effect of the patch, or did i mess something up?

help is appreciated,
Matt

well, i'm still waiting on the adapter to make the translated version for myself.
but when you run it through an emu it does the same thing... rain only shows up in the shadows, but so does the original version, so either that's the way it was made or it changed it when it was dumped if that;s possible. anyway i'd say you did everything correctly.

thanks for the confirmation!
i had double-checked all my connections, and aside from the one trace i lifted, everything was fine.
so, w00t for not screwing it up!

They did make some changes to the graphics to make the text fit or something like that, maybe that had something to do with it?
Thanks everyone...

Yeah, dont worry it looks like that on mine too. You don't happen to be using it on a Pal snes do you? Even when running at 60hz through a switch Star Ocean still has a few small graphical errors.
