OK, so I jusrt got a NIB Namco JogCon (I think it was from the Ridge Racer R4 pack, just without the game). I tried it on a number of PSX games, but I never really felt I benefitted from the wheel.
For starters, it only worked with 2 games: R4 and Breakout. and neither game was any better.
R4 was hard to control (I only put a few minutes into it), but I can confirm it definitely has force feedback. Breakout seemed like it had sluggish response. Plus the force feedback motor makes using the wheel as a paddle/spinner a little sloppy feeling.
I also tried Arkanoid 2000 (JAP) - when the wheel was switched on the game's "Press Start" message became "Can Not Start", so no joy, even though this looks like a great game. Love Arkanoid.
Sorcerer's Maze (AKA Prism Land) would not even allow you to put the JogCon into wheel mode (the LED would not light up when you press the mode button).
I haven't tried any Namco Museum games, or other Ridge Racer games. I heard the Gran Turismo 2 Demo CD worked, but not the real game.
I feel kinda bad for opening this neat little controller, just to find that it doesn't do it for me. Actually, I like the d-pad and buttons as much or more than a standard PSX controller. Can anyone tell me some game that really uses the JogCon? Any games I should try? Maybe I'll just trade/sell it here...
edit: What are the chances that the JogCon would work with one of my PSX --> DC/Xbox/USB adapters? Those claim to work with wheels also.
What am I supposed to do with this Namco JogCon?
