replacing wavebird analog

can i pull it out of a normal gc controller? i have 1 with a dead c stick =/

Yes, I've done this before to a roughed-up Wavebird I picked up at Gamestop. The buttons are interchangeable. It's a very simple procedure.

I haven't taken apart a gc controller in a long time. But I think you can do it, may take a bit of soldering though.

Wait, I should revise that. I didn't realize that you said the stick was "dead." My repair job was just swapping the swivel stick buttons.

well, the wavebird's analog is ugly. the wired one's C is dead. i wanna put the wired's analog in the bird.

Quite similar question
So I have problems with my analog for original wired GC controller. The rubber around it is broken so it's impossible to play with it. Can I use one of these controllers to place it's analog into original controller?

It should work basically all analog sticks are the same shit just two potentiometers. I'm pretty sure most of the top cap bits are interchangeable I have some vague memory of changing a dreamcast and ps2 controllers analog sticks so 2 gamecube controllers is probably definite
