X-Play Reviews Sonic 360 -- Good For A Laugh

Post by racketboy »

I could help but pass along this well-produced review of the new Sonic game:

Good stuff (the video, not the game)

I guess I'm not the only one that thought the hedgehog & girl situation was creepy

I also had an issue with this, but it might be because I visit 4chan, and I've seen too many unofficial hedgehog "pictures"...

Let's hope Sonic Wildfire's story is as bad or the game as glitchy.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I've never liked X-Play. They seem a bit too snarky for their own good. It seems like they focus more on trying to be funny than they do on making quality reviews, but sometimes the humor is so silly is embarrassing. I like geeky humor, but there's a point where geeky just becomes lame. This is the same show where I believe they've bashed Final Fantasy multiple times. I think it's that Sessler guy who hates the franchise. Final Fantasy has a rich history and is a big part of gaming history, and yet gets bashed on that show repeatedly. And what's with all the gamers who think Morgan Webb is a goddess? She's a very average looking woman to me. There's an asian looking girl on attack of Show and a brunette on Cheat who are both more attractive in my eyes(and despite the lame jokes they write for that Cheat girl, she's more tolerable than many of the other "characters" on G4).

I'm not really a big fan of G4/Tech tv these days. They've become too MTV-like. I used to hate that show Judgement Day too. I thought the concept was good. Two normal guys reviewing games(as oppossed to two geeky caricatures who belong in a cartoon like Morgan Web and Adam Sessler). The problem with Judgement Day though was Tommy. I know Tommy Tallerico has contributed a lot musically to the gaming industry, but he always came off as a moron on that show.

The only show I love is Cinematech. It's all just quality video game footage without annoying, obnoxious tv personalities interfering. Sometimes it's like watching a quality video game music video(unlike many silly ones you'll see on Youtube)

Okay, enough jaded ranting. I doubt anyone will read this anyway seeing as this topic has been ignored for a very long time.
