Hello all. Long time viewer, first time poster. I've been a fan of Racketboy's main site for some time now as they've helped me out with so much over the years from finding the best games on older consoles to modding my Saturn. Lately I've been playing my Dreamcast a lot lately (just found a copy of Skies of Arcadia at the local used-game store) and looking to get a broadband adapter to play PSOv2 on private servers. I've been trying to broaden my horizons and expand my horizons and game library by looking into more sports/racing games and imports.
For sports games the two I know I want to pick up are NHL2k2 and Virtua Tennis 2 but I was wondering how well some of Sega's other sports games have held up. I'm not terribly interested in baseball but the NBA2k series looks promising. I've read of several great racing games but I was wondering which one was best. I see Test Drive La Mans, Sega GT, and F355 Challenge mentioned the most. How well have they held up?
There are a hearty amount of imports I've been wanting to check out. Off the top of my head I can think of at least five or six. I've found plenty of instructions on how to install mod chips, both four and five wired version, but no websites that actually sell them. I really don't want to use the boot disk if I don't have to. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
P.S. Where do you guys find those epic .gifs that some of you use for avatars? The Metal Slug one gave me flashbacks lol.
Looking for Dreamcast sports/racing recs and mod chip.

You should give metropolis street racer a try its my favorite racing game on the dreamcast. Its pretty much project gotham racing. As for the SEGA sports titles there all generally decent. The football basketball and virtua tennis being the best in my opinion fallowed up by hockey and then baseball. As far as other sports games thats pretty much it. There are a few other basketball games and soccer titles but unfortunately EA didnt support the dreamcast. Also I dont think you can play PSO online at all anymore private server or not mind you I could be wrong.

You can indeed play PSO.... you have to setup and run your own server though (http://schtserv.com/download.php).
www.consolegoods.co.uk still sells DC modchips. I just bought one 2-3 months ago to save the hassle of using a bootdisc every time.

Unfortunately, I don't have a paypal account so it looks like getting it from that particular site isn't an option. Unless I just make a paypal account of course.
Re: Looking for Dreamcast sports/racing recs and mod chip.
Do you really need to install a mod chip? Not to promote piracy or anything, but if your DC was assembled before a certain date (sometime in 2000, I believe), it can play CD-Rs without any modifications, and that includes rips of import games. I play all sorts of Japanese games on mine.
If you'd prefer to have legitimate imports, though, that's cool. I'd just assume that one would prefer not to mod their console if at all possible.
EDIT:
You can actually pay with a credit/debit card through Paypal without creating an account. I only recently discovered this myself.

The Dreamcast plays CD-Rs as-is obviously so I'm just trying to work on my imports. Some games I would just prefer to own instead of pirating, Shenmue 2 and Ikaruga for example. And thanks for the tidbit about paypal, I'll definitely look into that.

Same here - I prefer originals, so in my case it's primarily to play import originals without using a boot disc.

Got nothing out of that one site. Thanks anyway though.
