Sega CD won't start up
So recently a friend came to me telling me his Sega CD doesn't work and hasn't for a long time. I plug everything in and turn on the power, nothing. no disc spin, no picture. not sure what could be wrong with it. it's the model 2 version btw. any ideas? I would hate to see a perfectly decent hardworking american Sega CD get tossed in the trash.

Check the fuse. The fuses on Sega CDs pop pretty easily. Try to use an official Sega power supply if at all possible.
