Isn't the 3GS more powerful than the previous iPhones? I'd assume that this game is more taxing on the hardware.

Hopefully by the time I upgrade to the 4G (?) this summer the game will be in the $0.99-$1.99 range. :)

Yes so the only ways to play this game is on 3GS or iPad

It can be played on the latest 32/64 iPod, but currently the metadata file is bugged so it doesn't show as available. If you hack that up (lots of tutorials to do so) it should work, as from a hardware perspective those two iPod models are the same as the 3GS.
