Compatible CD-i Remotes

Post by lisalover1 »

I just bought a Phillips CD-i for $40, with the only catch being that it didn't come with a remote or controller. What I want to know is if there are any modern universal remote controls that support the CD-i? I really don't want to have to buy an expensive CD-i controller.

RCA seems to be big on universal remotes at the local wally mart. With Phillips also a big name, I wonder if you selected either Phillips CD or Phillips DVD player code. Less then 10 dollar invested, good chance might work.

I actually own that same remote myself.
.
.
It's the worst piece of shit I've ever used. The one I own and only use when I absolutely have to is identical but re-branded with the GE logo and I've see it in stores before with the Zenith logo on it as well.

Now this remote is the best basic universal one I've ever used, just follow all the instructions and it's simple as pie:

There's also a cheaper version of it that only controls 4 devices I've seen at my local Sears for only $10.
My Consoles:
Genesis - Nomad - SegaCD - GameGear - Sega Saturn - Dreamcast - NES - SNES - N64 - Gamecube - Wii - Playstation - PSone & LCD - PS2 - PS3 - Xbox - 3DS

Philips makes a universal remote that's pretty cheap to buy: Philips PM335
It should support a CD-i, right?
You could search through the manuals and code lists on this site to see if one specifies the CD-i as a supported device:

You should have just got the portable CDi. One of them popped op on ebay recently, and last Time I checked, it was over $300 with 3 hours left.

It looks to be damn cool in my opinion.

I don't know if regular remotes work with CD-I players, I would suggest trying to find an actual remote that came with the system. This site has a list of all the official remotes made for the CD-I. My unit came with a 22ER9051 (CD-i Thumbstick) which worked perfectly for me.

Some games that I can personally recommend are: The Wacky World of Miniature Golf, Cartoon Carnival, Dark Castle, and Golden Oldies Jukebox. The cases are pretty sweet too.

Oh, well, It is over now, sorry.
Actually, I just made a guess as to what it was at, but it ended more around $280
It was the same model you found though.
