based on this website (http://www.videogamepricecharts.com), here is what the items you have are worth in a current market over the last 90 days.

Super Nintendo system: 42.52
3 controllers: 8.16 ea.
Killer Instinct: 6.22
Shaq Fu: 0.97
Starfox: 6.95
Mortal Kombat: 4.66
Street Fighter II: 4.79
Super Strike Eagle: 1.00

total assumed value: $91.59

this is "assumed" because the system may or may not work 100% of the time (due to loose or worn contacts, dirt, excessive use, heat exposure, etc), the controllers you have listed also may or may not work 100% of the time (worn button contacts, cable condition/shorts, adding to this that one of the controllers is a 3rd party controller and not an official nintendo brand), and that your copy of killer instinct does include the box (which actually adds a little value to your game).

realistically, i do not think you could achieve your asking price of $100 in any reasonable setting. you may get lucky but i sincerely doubt anyone will be willing to pay that much for a secondhand 3rd-generation system with six common (and in the case of super strike eagle and shaq fu, C-list or otherwise worthless) games. i have purchased numerous systems before for way less money and with more games/accessories. i do not think that you will find a buyer at that price, especially not on something with such a limited marketing power as craigslist.

i wish you luck with your sale, i hope this email was informative and not offensive to you, and my offer of $30 will still stand if you find that your lot has gone unsold any length of time from now. thank you.

This can end two ways. You will get that lot for $30 or get a very funny e-mail back. It's a win-win.

I would just ask for the boxed copy of Killer Instinct (assuming that it has the instruction manual) and then be on my way. He can keep the rest of that shit

So you offer him $30. He counter offers to sell it for $100. You come back with evidence that it's worth $90, but still only offer him $30. Is there something I'm not understanding about your negotiating tactics here? Why would he sell it to you for $30 if you can sell it for $90 on ebay?

You make a very good point. All that research you did basically confirmed that according to the price guide he is more or less on target with his asking price of $100. And you know what, there are people that will pay that for a SNES and a few games. Don't ask me why but every game store around here sells just a system with one control for $45-$50 easy and they sell within a day or two of hitting the shelves.

Me on the otherhand just picked up another yellowed SNES from the thrift store for $5...

Did anyone read about the i-Phone game that was a zit popping simulator?
It's a total shovelware game, but they found that when they increased the price, they sold more copies. They started fiddling more with the price and even sold a copy of this stupid game for $200. Apple got mad and took them out of the app store, but it just goes to show that there's a sucker born every minute. I've sold things on craigslist before at prices higher than I would pay for them. The prices weren't too ridiculous, but if you're willing to wait, a buyer often comes around eventually.
