What would happen to your games if you die tomorrow?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

What would happen to your games if you die tomorrow?

Post by Jerkface Killah »

I lost my grandfather last week to pulmonary fibrosis. We were very close. He had four daughters, of which, my mother is one. Now that the ceremonial part is done (wake and funeral) the business part begins of splitting his estate/possessions. He wasn't too specific about particular items. He had a stamp collection, some of which was assigned to certain people, the rest is, up for grabs, so to speak.

Now to the question. If you get hit by a bus tomorrow leaving your home, what will happen to your (insert hobby here, I assume it's game collecting) collection? Is it known who it will go to? Will it be donated? Will it be sold with the money going to your family? Who has a will drawn up? I don't. I'm 23, it's not really a priority. But maybe it should be. My games, if i were to die now would be sold, I think. If I have kids, then die, I'll leave the games to them. Thoughts?

They'd be buried with me obviously.

You're right! I can't believe I forgot this option. The Egyptians knew you can take it all with you, just be buried with it! I better have a controller in my hand in my casket.

I'd hope that both my cadaver and my games could be part of a new episode of 'will it blend?'
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I wonder this far too often, I think I would give them to my brother or donate them to some kind of charity or museum( I assume by then we will have video game museums)

Don't really care actually, whatever happens after I'm gone is of no concern to me. I have no post-death plans in place for anything quite frankly

All I care about is what happens in my life NOW

They're gonna be buried with me. I do know some people that appreciate games like I, or a lot of us do, but for the most part, my collections coming with me.

Or I can donate it to the Racketboy store, just a thought.

My younger brother would get them, who would keep what he liked and sell the rest.
