Final Fantasy IV: The After Years question

Post by jfe2 »

I searched the forums and found a few topics where people were talking about starting out playing FF IV: The After Years on WiiWare, but I never really saw what everyone thought about the final product when they were done with it. I downloaded the main story today, not realizing that there were a ton of downloadable episodes available for 300 points a piece.

To anyone who has played through this, is it worth it to download all of the side stories? I'll probably end up doing it, but not if its just garbage. Most of the online reviews I've read don't really touch on their value.

I downloaded main game and some side stories. I was disappointed how they split the content. It was fun for what I did play. 8)

Think of it like Dragon Quest IV; every character has their own story and it all comes together in the end. I'm in the final area of the game, and so far I feel like I've been getting my money's worth. It's a nice continuation of the FFIV story and I like the enhancements they've made to the combat.

This one of those titles that really makes me want a wii. If I was 12 again, I would have passed out when they announced this game.

That makes me not feel so bad about wanting to spend all of that cash on it. Just out of curiosity, how long would you estimate the whole thing being so far?

Same here, that's why I'm so interested in it now!

I think I've spent 20-30 hours so far. And I haven't even bothered to do any of the challenge dungeons for any of the characters (after you beat a chapter you unlock a challenge dungeon for mad exp and treasure).
