restarting my gba collection
restarting my gba collection
So I have a ps2 that I been collecting for a while and i wanted the system for all the 2d fighters and the snk collection series art of fighting world heroes etc. I collected all the 2d fighters and some other games but now since I read collectors vs hoarders I believe I'm a hoarder. I have 130 gamecube games, 30 or so ps2 games and 150 or so genesis/ 32x/cd games. Now I love the genesis. But I noticed about the other systems I will never play these things at all. So I'm thinking of trading in my ps2 collection and some rare gamecube games for the nes classic series and the snes ports for the gba. I once had all of the classic nes series and a bunch of the snes ports but i traded them in because i saw alot of the psone fighters from capcom and i got all the 2d fighters for the psone now but I regret getting rid of my gba collection. I could play zelda and mario and castlevania anywhere and those and the genesis is what i grew up with and Im a gamer where i pick up a system play the game for ten to fifteen minutes and I'm done for the day. So guys help me out is this a bad idea or not. Thanks I love to listen to you guys. It gives me an idea of what i should do

You have a huge collection that took a while to build. The money lost in resale not worth losing all your great games. I think at a later date you might regret selling just like you previously did with the Gameboy advance. Once you start building up the GBA collection again, great having Gamecube for the GB player on TV. The PS2 with a HDAdvance/HDLoader is by far the most convenient. Install your games you like and run games off a hard drive driven menu.

To me, the key sentence in your question is, "I could play zelda and mario and castlevania anywhere and those and the genesis is what i grew up with and Im a gamer where i pick up a system play the game for ten to fifteen minutes and I'm done for the day."
A GBA collection is a lot of fun. It has ports (you mention Genesis- I just got in the GBA port of Desert Strike -- cool!), the cartridges are small, it is modern enough to minimize some of the worries about failing hardware, there's a lot to pick from on eBay and elsewhere- sometimes very cheaply. And it has the 'pick up and play' attribute.
If you have an emotional tie to certain avenue, you should pursue it. But I think you'll be best off starting slowly and waiting before selling a bloc of your Playstation collection.

if you start collecting GBA carts, then there will be less of them in Massachusetts for me. I don't think you should do it.
