Neo Geo Arcade buying help please!

Post by Cov238 »

Hey guys

I posted a few days ago about this cabinet and wanted a quick opinion of whether it was a good deal. The cabinet works fine and comes with 9 games including Fatal Fury 2, Art of Fighting 2, Samura Showdown 1 , 2, 3,4, Bubble Bobble, Metal Slug, and another game. All of this for $500. Unlike before I now have pictures which reveal some paint chipping and some cosmetic wear on the front overlay. I have pictures now so help is really really appreciated as I need to make a decision ASAP.

500 dollars is a good price for a two slot with 9 games. The majority of those cartridges are quite common, but if the Metal Slug and Bust A Move are legit cartridges then they justify about 100 dollars of the cost on their own.

A few recommendations though, you'll definitely want to sand down that CP and go over it with some Rustoleum Black Gloss paint. My CP used to be similarly rusted and I used that on my 4-slots control panel and it worked wonders.

Also, while some might disagree, I find the Sanwa style sticks to be somewhat awkward on upright cabs, and frankly they don't look very good. You might be better suited going to http://www.happcontrols.com and picking up a set of Happ Competitions, which are very nice sticks for those particular cabs.

Lastly, the damage to that cab can be repaired with Bondo. Just run a google search on repairing cabinet damage with Bondo and you should be set.

I say you should jump on it. I paid more than that for my four slot with one cart, so getting 9 games and a cab for that price is a steal.

If you buy this cabinet and have any other questions feel free to shoot me a PM.
