GBA SP earphones adapter question
I am going to buy a GBA SP earphone adapter but I seem to recall someone on Racketboy mentioning that a 3rd party adapter wrecked their GBA. I tried searching for the thread but found nothing. Did I imagine the whole thing or is there really a problem with 3rd party adapters?
Mostly harmless
Re: GBA SP earphones adapter question
I've used a third party brand forever and no damage to my SP yet...

I remember that thread. I believe they said the 3rd party one was very tight and hard to remove. And I feel like they said the sound quality sucked. But I don't remember anything about damaging the SP.

I would suggest for you to go to this site: store.nintendo.com and look for the part. Spend the extra money to avoid disappointment later.

Re: GBA SP earphones adapter question
That was me - it didn't wreck the GBA, but it did cause it to crash if you removed/added it (or even wiggled it) while playing. That was a no-brand third party from a fairly rubbish games site here in NZ. Sound quality was fine, mind.
I've since picked up a Joytech which works a charm, and there's no lasting damage to the GBA SP.
