I looks pretty good. I might pick it up. Curious what you folks have to say about it.

My copy arrives today, so I might give it a spin tonight. Or I'll just play Strange Journey.

Yeah, report back. I wanted to make a thread about the game, but I have hesitated spending the money on it so I have no opinion. I don't have motion-plus, so it'd be $60. The reviews so far are encouraging.

yeah- it looks like it is shaping up to be a good game, but wii reviews are pretty deceptive.

I can never tell if the reviewer is thinking "good enough for a wii game" or is calling it a flat out "good game." Wanted to see what you all thought.

Ok, I'm a little ways in, and the game is already heads and shoulders above Red Steel 1. First there's the control calibration. Just like The Conduit you have full freedom to customize turning speed, bounding box, and other such values. Next is the graphics; the devs understood the Wii can't put out FFXIII, so they went with a cel-shaded look. So the visuals end up being very nice even though the poly count is lower than what the 360 and PS3 can put out.

Finally, and most importantly, is the combat. Combat is a series of encounters, in that enemies will spawn in discrete packs. Between packs your health regens to full, so you don't have to worry about getting slowly worn down by pack after pack of random mobs. The combat is quite fluid. In Red Steel 1 you had gun mode and sword mode, and they happened at separate times. In Red Steel 2 you can use either your sword or your guns at any moment. So far most of my opponents have had swords, though a few have guns. This leads to situations such as an enemy jumps at me with a leap slash, so I counter by shooting him in midair. He lands on his back and I rush forward to do a finishing blow with my sword. The moves link together quite well; I've already received a charging slash move that can be immediately followed by a finishing move, and it all flows seamlessly. The game runs at a very smooth and constant framerate, so combat remains fast. So far, though, the narrative is incredibly weak. Not that I was playing this game for the narrative.

This is definitely a fun game, and not just a fun Wii game.

The quality of this game is good. The more I played and the more it attacks. It keeps getting better IMO.Experience of playing it was nice.It is very very well done.Red Steel 2 is the best sword fighting samurai ninja style game that I have played on the Wii with a cool visual style and excellent action and weapon modifications.

I picked it up today. I also got Divinity 2 for the PC, so we'll see how my gaming time gets divided. If I get any strong impressions I'll report back. One note though, if you never have used wii-motion plus there is a 3 minute mandatory instructional video that shows you how to hook it up. It's dumber than airplane safety manuals.

Fortunately you only need to do it once per console.

I got this a couple of days ago - ASDA has it for £20, go get it before the price goes back up.

So far I think its a great game, its set in a town called Caldera which is a wild west town occupied with samuris and ninjas and has some high tech doors all over the place.

I agree with MrPopo, the comat is very fluid and balanced and the range of moves you have is wide. I love the stylish graphics, music and voice acting. There are some awesome cut scenes to watch although I have already come across one QTE sections (yak).

I'm very impressed with it, it improves on the original in everyway
