For years my daughter and I have enjoyed Walt Disney World Racing for the PSOne. Not knowing there was a Dreamcast version released also. Well about two months ago I found a good price on Ebay and it arrived in good condition. But would not play. I contacted the seller and immediate refund was given and even said keep it. Nice guy.
Well yesterday I recieved another one from a different seller and still it will not play. I checked both discs and they are in good condition. I then looked at my Dreamcast and saw no problems nor have any problems with my Sports Edition since I got in back in 2001. I checked to see if the CD's will play in the Music section and they do. Both of them. I then switched the setting to auto play and turned of the system. Turned it back on and the original disc played. But when I finished the first level it reset to the Dreamcast menu.
I really can't calculate the odds of this system not reading two good quality discs. This is an unmodded system and both discs are official releases. My thinking is it may be the purple label. Any suggestions would be appriciated.

Lots of people have had issues with Sonic Adventure as well. I got a copy in a bundle that at least started up and let me run around in the first level for 5 minutes with no issue. I traded it to ClassicGamer5 and it wouldn't work for him at all. He got it resurfaced, still no joy. It was in the charity auction, but I don't know who it went to. Someone else had issues with the SA as well a month ago, but the second copy they got worked ok for them. If you can, might try the discs on another DC as it seems there are some finicky combinations of discs and drives.

Can't speak for the Walt Disney Racing, but I do know that when Sonic Adventure came out they had problems with one or possibly more of the press runs not working problem. At the time, Sega had a notice about it on their web site. I remember that my stepson had problems getting Wal*Mart to take back a second defective copy since they don't like accepting returns on video games.Hobie-wan wrote:Lots of people have had issues with Sonic Adventure as well.
