Hey guys,
I was just going through my saturn collection and I found a really bizarre AR/Ram Cart that I have never seen online or anywhere else for that matter. I'll post a photo and maybe one of you can tell me if it's anything out of the ordinary.
i've never seen that sticker before. did you try it out? it says expansion ram card, but i don't see "4mb" written on it though i see the kanji for 4 (which is strange, usually for technological items the arabic 4 is used). maybe it's a chinese/taiwanese bootleg? (though there is japanese writing on there). try it out and let us know if it works!
I like the number 512... don't know why. Probably because it's the it's an exponent of 9 with base of 2 which are two of my favourite numbers.... yeah... ummmm... nevermind.
The way I got it was a guy I do modding for at a local flea market came up to me one day and said hey you want some saturn stuff? and so naturally I said yes, and so he gave me a Japanese White Saturn, an American Black Saturn V2, the AR/RAM cart, a standard Japanese Sega Save cart, 5 various controllers, a Virtua Stick, and 20 games (Mostly Sports titles but a few others like Tomb Raider, Mortal Combat, Wipeout, WWF etc) all for free. Also, interestingly enough, in the bottom of the Virtua Stick box (it was still in original packing, used but like new) there was a 64M Ram Upgrade for a Game Doctor SF6/7. The one thing it didn't come with is an AV cable (just ordered one from Racketboy last week and waiting for it to get here, along with a Saturn modchip.) so I havn't really been able to use the Saturns alot. I kinda hacked apart an old PSX RF Modulator to use with it, but because I didn't have the right connector for the Saturn AV port it wasn't very reliable, always suffering from loose connections. I finally caved and ordered a proper cable:P
