Anyone been to Africa?

Post by Jrecee »

I might be shooting a documentary in Africa. Has anyone ever lived/visited there?

A lifetime ago, in my military days had the fortune of visiting Mombasa. I took one of the British Sponsored Wildlife Safari Jeeps out in the plains. Very cool, took a picture of Lioness and two cubs on an early morning hunt from roof of that truck. Driver was going nuts yelling in swahili, didn't realize in my tourist stupidity the lion could jump that high. After risking life and limb I lose the camera on a bus in Singapore.

Spent a three nights way out there on one of those Safari campgrounds with mosquito netting around your bed.
Some very unforgettable memories.

Take one of those Safari Jeeps you won't get a better view, just don't become lion breakfast. :D

I might just be weird but that song always reminds me of this from Yoshi's Island:

Hell no, I know people that go there, stay a while and then get staff infections. (Which for me is something that is very dangerous)

I've had family live in South Africa.

Could you narrow down where you'll be in Africa?

What is a staff infection, and why in your case is it more dangerous?

More information forthcoming. All I know thus far is africa in general. If we're headed to Johannesburg I'm probably writing this trip off, as I understand it's one of the most crime ridden cities in the world.

I think he is abbreviating wrongly

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Staphylococcus

It's a kind of bacteria, made of "little" balls (the "coccus").

Contrast that to the "tubes" Bacillus

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacillus

Or
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streptococcus
which are "rows" of little balls instead of clumps.

(Of course, of another thing)
