When I move back to my friend's, I'm actually gonna sit down and try the DC 56k -> mac mini -> high-speed tutorial I found on dcemu.co.uk a while ago. Then you don't have to bother to the land-line crap. I'm moving later this week, but it'll probably be a few days before the DC gets unpacked. I'll report then.
Hi all, I've just been gettin back into the dreamcast, from burnin games to playin punchout on nesterdc. I have set up the internet for it, but all my LOCAL access numbers are long distance(ouch) and this great dial up is the answer to my problem (without buyin the broadband adapter). I can get the connection, but my dreamcast keeps telling me 'incorrect username or password' no matter how many times i retype my username and password. Even though i signed up for greatdialup and have the right dns number. Could any of you guys tell me how to set this up? because I can't figure it out.

What browser disc did you use to input the information? I suggest PlanetWeb 2.6. Some browser discs, like XDP and most games with built in browsers, have difficulty saving the dialup information.
I do happen to have the planetweb browser you mentioned Mozgus. (It came with my dreamcast, although I can't make out what version it is) And have been spending quite some time getting it to log on to my greatdialup account, but it works great with juno and I have used the browser to download a number of vmu files with the little time that I could afford to use it. I appreciate any help you can give me.
I'm not sure...it worked for me. Here's the exact phone number code I used, and I left the area code box blank and unchecked 'dial area code':
*70,,1-877-776-1314
DNS fields were 0.0.0.0 and I filled everything else out appropriately.
Oh and when I found out about greatdialup, I noticed I still had a juno account filled out in my dreamcast's internal memory as well. I must have been using that a couple years ago. I had no trouble making the switch to greatdialup.
Thank you for all of your help Mozgus . I finally got connected by doing what you said and also excluding @greatdialup.com from my log-in box. (Since it says on their site's faq page that they already assume I'm a part of great dial up and @greatdialup.com wasn't needed in the username) Although online traffic is sort of thick at the moment, I can finally view web sites with my dreamcast! Thanks again

I haven't actually used greatdialup on a PC yet to measure its performance. I was just kind of thrilled to have my DC online again.
