How do you keep your NES games cased?

Post by JokermanJohnny »

I've noticed that one method in storing your NES cases is in a Universal Game Case. If it weren't for the fact that I would have to make a permanent mod to the case by using a cutting tool to remove the tabs inside to get the game, the manual, and whatever else came along with it, to fit in the case.

In my case (no pun intended) , I found the original plastic cases for the NES games. Not only do they take up less room than a UGC, but they use less ink and paper for covering. But I don't know many people that use the method I've described...

Therefore, I want to know, in your honest opinion, how you keep your NES games cased.

I Just keep them on a shelf, Idealy I would have dust covers for them all. I remember I used to have blue cases to put them in... I really liked those.

Some people on eBay sell 10 or so dust covers for $8, if I'm not mistaken...which I probably am.

I would like to have them on some custom shelves in the future. Right now I keep all of my NES games in three plastic bins I got at Walmart.

I sized to fit shelves matching width of my N64 carts, placed so the contacts down to keep dust out. You can do the same for those NES carts. Some laminated wood flooring makes great thin space saving shelving material. Put together with 1½" vertical wood beams sized slightly taller then the carts.

Carts are alphabetized and easy to select from shelf vs stored in cases or digging through a plastic tub.
