How do you guys deal with multiple brick AC adapters?

Post by fuctfuct »

I'm going to be setting up all my stuff in a dedicated room soon. Hate un-pluging and pluging things in depending on what i want to play. Just looking for suggestions. Right now i have a voltage stabilizer that i run a couple normal strips off of. Just doesn't cut it with multiple bricks. Maybe post some pics if you have a nice power setup?

I came a across this cool power "bar" looks perfect but its like $40!! in Canada lol.

Edit: Just found this.. Looks like it would do the trick for less then $40

I believe they call that The Octopus (for obvious reasons).

Here are a couple of examples:

http://www.staples.com/Staples-5-Outlet ... 7:CL163615

Overall they are awesome ideas for getting rid of those "brick" problems.

I use this surge protector http://www.homedepot.com/Electrical-Ele ... ogId=10053 . I use the side outlets for the brick adapters and the middle ones for the regular power supplies. It will also protect from a surge.

Hehe. I just use like 12 crappy ass power strips. Actually, to be fair I think they are all running off of like two actual surge protectors. Damn Jaguar/Jaguar CD Drive takes up a whole strip by itself. I can't believe it took them so long to develop the power cord that has the brick somewhere in the middle rather than on the plug. That dude must have made millions.

Sorry or that girl...

I have 2 power boards (both with surge protection) one has bigger gaps for using 'bricks' picked them up form Kmart for like $5.

Check the bottom of this thread for my wiring pics

I would have posted them again but I don't have the pics anymore. I have 6 power strips and several extension cords. I changed it now to only 4 power strips and one extenstion cord.

My mom actually got me a load of adapters for Christmas that are made for dealing with Power Bricks. It's just a three-pronged female, three-pronged male, and about a one-foot cord that connects the two. Nothing fancy, but it works - and it allows me to use the same ol' Surge Protectors I've always used.
