Which of these two classics would all of you prefer to buy and invest time in to beat?

I've only played the Super NES one. It's quite good. It's a mixture of chess and an RPG, if that makes sense.

After the first couple levels, you form up squads of different classes that do the RPG battles. You can mix knights with mages, that sort of thing. It gets rather complicated quickly with the addition of animals and other classes and I much liked it. But I didn't play a whole ton of it.

I'm on the lookout for the N64 one. I'm waiting for a price drop, but something tells me that ain't happening.

Ogre Battle 64 is one of my favorite games of all time. I haven't played through all of March of the Black Queen, but enough to know that its pretty much like 64, only a bit worse. If you can find either one for a decent price (which is hard to do), you should buy it, but 64 should be at the top of your list.

I saw one or two copies of Ogre Battle 64 at a game store for $20, but I haven't picked one up yet. I'm kind of interested in what could very well be the most unique games for the N64, in comparison to the rest of its library. Not only is it 2D, but it is an RPG. Both things which are virtually nonexistent on the N64.

I rented the SNES one back in the day without instructions (or internet access) and hated it. I was expecting a more traditional RPG. Fast forward a few years and I gave Tactics Ogre on GBA a try and loved it, so I tracked down a copy of OB64... which is nothing like the "Tactics" game, but awesome nonetheless.

After many delays I finally really get into OB64.... when the SNES game shows up on the VC, so I get it, hoping to play them in order. The good news is that I like it much more now that I know what i'm getting into, but it's hard to look at compared to the gorgeous OB64.

I have to give the nod to OB64, but for superficial reasons, i've spent more time with it and it looks better, but OB SNES is only 8 bucks on the VC, so it's worth picking up if you know your going to invest time in it.

Ogre Battle 64 is an amazing game.

I've never played the SNES one, but my vote's for 64!
