Correct me if I am wrong, but it is "Railroad Tycoon" that is free, and the new game, "Railroads!" is not free.

Wow, Railroads is oooooold. It's not a fantastic game, but it's a nice distraction if you're into simulation games. Chris Sawyer's Locomotion is better, and Transport Tycoon Deluxe is even better.

Railroads! was a huge dissapointment after the amazing Railroad Tycoon 3.
BTW, Niode, have you cheked OpenTTD? It's TTD but like a thousnad times better and with a lively multiplayer component!

Transport Tycoon was (is) indeed rather cool - I also heard good things about OpenTTD but I never tried it, not enough time for all the nice games around.
