So I went to Dave & Buster's for the first time yesterday.

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

They had a full 8 player row of Daytona USA Deluxe 50'' sit down motion cabs with V.R. Cameras and everything!

They also had a House of the Dead 2 Deluxe sit down machine, House of the Dead 4 deluxe, a Mechassault motion cab, Ferrari F355 3-Screen/3-Board surround Naomi cab, a crazy Namco Jump Rope machine, the new Rambo game from Sega and more!

It was awesome!

Yeah, Dave & Buster's was where I first got to play House of the Dead 3, and last I went, one of the ones in Atlanta had an entire row of VF3 cabs, where I spent a good chunk of time.

Sadly the whole place was mostly redemption games and wasted a TON of space on a worthless pool hall in the back.

On another note they had only one single fighting game in the whole place, a lonely and beaten Tekken 5: Dark Ressurection cab with dying sanwa buttons. Though it did have the Tekken Data cards for sale, but at five dollars I passed even though I've been wanting one for forever.

But the Daytona USA full row setup was the highlight of my trip there. It's my favorite arcade game of all time and had always been a dream of mine to play one of the full row machines.

Which one did you go to? The Jacksonville D&B is about an hour drive north of my house, so I've made the trip a few times now.

Used to live in Fort Lauderdale, so went there several times. Eventually I realized what a waste the redemption games were and did the racing and fighters.

I was always curious about D&B. A girl I work with wants to have a party there and I was wondering if the machines are pay as you go or if you pay a fee at the door and then have unlimited play. The commercials make it seem like you can play as much as you want, but if it is like the normal arcade I imagine they charge a lot per game (compared to the OC boardwalk) and you can end up spending a ton of money by the end of the night.

Genius idea, between drinks and arcade games they must make a killing.

Dave and Busters is still really cool!!!! The $15 dollar play and eat deal is so tight. Have a fat burger and $10 worth of arcade credit... you can't beat that at any arcade. Plus if you are 21 and up, you can drink there. Draft beer, whiskey coke, and maybe a Mai Tai.... I guarantee anyone is having a good time! The only complaint I have about d&b is that some locations can be pretty crowded and ghetto.

Everyone should check it out... (even though it does not serve up the best old school games).... go just for the drink, arcade, and atmosphere.

Unless they've changed things in the last four months, it's pay as you go. You buy a card and get credits on it. All of the games are expensive.

Yup. Last time I went to a D&B, I had to first purchase a card, and put credits on it. I told the rep that I was out of town and asked if they could waive the card fee; no go. Most of the games are over priced as Limewater pointed out. I love motorcycle games in the arcade, but I haven't seen much improvement since Super Hang-On.

We were given three $10 cards so we just walked in and played, but yeah, it was expensive as hell. Playing the Daytona machine cost us $2 every time.
